  COLLEGE ESSAY CAUSING YOU DISTRESS??

As college application deadlines loom, parents and students admit that the essay is the number one task students dread, avoid, or wait to tackle last minute. Yet it is a vital tool for providing depth to your application. The essay introduces the person behind the grades, scores, and extracurricular activities. And it sometimes makes the difference between an acceptance or rejection from your desired college.

Let me help you with your essay.

I am a freelance writer for The Boston Globe and a published author of personal essays, articles, and stories. I currently have a senior at Bedford High. I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Relations from Boston University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Magazine Journalism from Syracuse University’s SI School of Communications.

I have helped many Bedford students with their essays. While the essay alone cannot help a student get into college, my students have been pleased with their acceptances.

I will not write the essay for you! We will discuss the content and the messages your essay provides about yourself. Then we will adjust words, sentences, and paragraphs so you and your writing are effervescent.

This is how I work with a student:

Option I:
Part One:
If you already have drafted an essay, I will review it online, then meet with you for up to 75 minutes to work together on revisions on my office computer. The price for this process is $125.
Part Two:
If you require me to look at it again (online or in person), the fee will be based on an hourly rate of $85/hour.

Option II:
If you have no idea what to write your essay on, do not worry! We will meet at my office next to Starbucks, walk over for a cup of coffee on me, and come back to my office to chat for up to an hour. The process of talking about your life will quickly bring to the fore a stellar topic for a college essay! Believe it or not, it will be something close to FUN. If you think you can then work on a draft on your own, go to it. If you prefer to get started together, we’ll schedule our next hour together and take it from there. So, you can work with me on just the idea for $60, or on an idea plus the first draft for $160—and a free cup of coffee. If you want to continue after this, you jump into Option I, and pick up in Part Two.

Hours: Flexible daytime/after school, evening and weekend hours.

Location: We will meet at 200 The Great Road, Suite 203, Bedford.
